What is INTERCO, Inc?
INTERCO is Furniture Brands International's predecessor. The company was founded as the International Shoe Company in 1921. In 1966 the company changed its name to INTERCO, Inc. and in 1996 INTERCO changed its name to Furniture Brands International.

On October 22, 2003 the company initiated an annual dividend of $.50 per common share paid quarterly at a rate of $.125. The current rate of the company's dividend is $.60 per common share paid quarterly at a rate of $.15.
